Our Story

We were founded in February 2021, growing from an initial effort to provide culturally-relevant reading material to the children of New Orleans through a social-media book drive campaign known as Ready, Set, Go! Book Race. Raising $2021 during our two-week effort empowered us to continue and expand the mission

Our team is diverse in background—though apparently not MTBI personality types—including a content leader in education, a managerial logistics expert, an epidemiologist, & pediatricians with varying interests in the field of medicine and public health. We’re comprised of natives of New Orleans and a cherished expat!

Knowing that holistic health means physical, mental, and emotional health, our programming supports all three aspects of personal development and, consequently, healthier, self-actualized & enabled communities.

Our aim is to rally existing collective resources. We aspire to establish networks between community organizations & leaders, libraries, hospitals, small businesses, educators, and school systems. Our work centers on the growth of healthy Black & Brown communities.

Thus far, WGEWT’s primary sources of funding have been through your gracious donations and our personal investments. As a proud Non-Profit Organization, any additional donations & all net proceeds of merchandise sales go directly to funding programming, events, and materials. We continue to welcome donations.

Thank you for your interest in joining our effort to cultivate healthy communities. Together, We Grow Everything We Touch.

Change starts with us.

Health. Healing. Wholeness.
