Your mental health is important.
Everyone benefits when you take care of yourself!
Mental wellness is an important part of overall health. Not only does our mental health impact our physical health, it helps determine how we manage emotions, make decisions, relate to others, maintain boundaries, and handle stress.
Yet, our mental health is often overlooked in the demands of life. Fortunately, it’s possible to implement wellness practices into our daily lives. A healthy mind is vital to a healthy life.
What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present in the moment. Mindfulness practice calls on you to use the five senses to whole-heartedly engage, non-judgmentally, with the world around or within you.
When fully you’re aware of what you’re doing, you increase your ability to disregard unwanted distractions—including any pesky self-sabotaging thoughts. Practicing mindful awareness means completing a task with 100% of your energy & attention!
A commitment to mindfulness reduces anxiety, stress, and emotional reactivity. Mindful practices also have been shown to improve mood, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain, and improve sleep. Meditation & mindfulness activities exercise our ability to focus attention and tune in or out as needed.
